GENESIS OF A SCULPTURE - The first contemporary geopolymer sculpture 

The aim of this short documentary is to tell the story behind the creation of the sculpture commissioned by the Davidovits family.

The phrase “donner à l'autre une part de soi”, means “to share a part of oneself with another”. It appears on the sculpture itself and carries multiple meanings, including the idea of passing knowledge from one generation to the next, and thus the transmission of knowledge over time. 

This knowledge, which transcends time, perfectly reflects the research the Davidovits family has been pursuing for decades. For nearly half a century, the family has been dedicated to the study and development of geopolymers—a material that is still not widely known to the general public, yet whose origins can be traced back as far as 2500 BC.
